America 250!

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a bold idea changed the course of human history. In Philadelphia, America's Founding Fathers declared that all people are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That extraordinary declaration gave birth to the greatest experiment in self-government the world has ever known.

In 1776, brave men pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to secure the blessings of liberty for generations yet unborn. Here in Connecticut, and especially in Trumbull, a town proudly named for Revolutionary War Governor Jonathan Trumbull, we remain connected to that remarkable legacy. The ideals of the American Revolution are not confined to history books; they continue to inspire our communities, our civic life, and our shared commitment to freedom.

For 250 years, America has faced wars, hardships, and challenges that tested our resolve, yet each generation has answered the call to preserve and strengthen this exceptional nation. The American Experiment has endured because ordinary citizens have embraced the extraordinary responsibility of protecting liberty and passing it on to the next generation.

As fireworks illuminate the skies this Independence Day, let us celebrate not only our remarkable past but also our limitless future. May we continue to defend the principles that have made America a beacon of freedom and opportunity for people around the world, ensuring that the next 250 years are even brighter than the first.

Trumbull Rocks the 250th!

We kicked off the celebration of America's 250th birthday by painting patriotic rocks with residents of our wonderful community late this June in anticipation of the July 4th holiday. These rocks will soon be hidden throughout town for you to discover!
